Entering diacritics (āēīōū) into notes fields. 1605
« on: December 01, 2022, 02:01:30 pm »
Using the Māori keyboard it is possible to insert, by typing, characters with macrons (e.g. by entering `a) into pretty much every property field EXCEPT the notes field (including the note fields in Notes and Text boxes).
Oddly these characters with diacritics can be pasted in.

I've seen this in the past, and wonder if this is a regression.
Has anyone seen something similar?

I just added the Reo Māori language and Maori keyboard to my windows and changed to it.

I seem to be able to type the vowels with macros using your instructions.

Interesting. Ngā mihi. Into a note field? I wonder what is going on then? And how I find out.

Maybe ask the Japanese colleagues on how they enter Kana (and Kanji) and whether they have issues with that? Or your colleagues from India which maybe use non-latin chars too.
