Bad convesion of a national characters from .EAP to .QEA format
« on: January 19, 2023, 10:09:36 pm »
Hi

I have problem with conversion .EAP file to .QEA file in EA16.1.
Conversion proces finished without any issues. BUT created project incorrectly displays national characters.
.EAP file was build as an export with DB repository the code page of which is EE8MSWIN1250.

The same problem occured when the conversion is made to FEAP file.

Do enybody know a solution?

Report a bug (below in the Support section). V16 seems to have an additional bug feature :-/

Hello mgm,

Please try the following steps, it may solve your situation:
  • Transfer your EAP to FEAP, but do NOT use the dedicated feature for EAP/EAPX, but use the normal project transfer feature (you need to copy the EABase.feap file in the installed directory to anywhere for the transferring target project, prior to tranfer)
  • then, in similar way, transfer the FEAP to a new QEA file

Hi

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately it doesn't work.
If I tried to do AEP -> migraton to FEAP -> transfer to QEA than I obtained the same result as in case AEP -> migraton to QEA.

Sorry, I forgot adding one more condition to the steps. When you convert from an EAP to a FEAP, you need to convert on the version 15.2 or earlier.

In another way, converting an EAP to a QEA on the 32-bit version 16.0 (or later) can avoid the problem.

I hope one of them could help you.
