Read Only access in desktop client
« on: March 10, 2023, 07:39:04 am »
Hi. I have been a SparX EA user for a few years, but never had to administer it. Our administrator has recently left the team and I cannot find any documentation on adding uers. Using the help guide, I have muddled way through this. We are only use the desktop client, not Web EA. I believe I have a new group successfully added. I need this group to be READ ONLY but I don't know what Group Permissions to check. I only want this group to be able to browse the browser, open and view diagrams, and view element properties. Does anything need to be checked in Group Permissions and if so, what?

Thanks for your help.

You can download the Enterprise Lite Edition for these users

Quote
The read-only edition of Enterprise Architect can be distributed with UML models, to staff or to customers. The Lite edition supports all viewing functions in the latest Enterprise Architect release, however documentation generation and all 'update' ability has been disabled.

As for read only access, I do use procloud, not the actual client as I do not want to waste a sparx licence for read only access
The Enterprise Lite Edition (desktop application) mentioned above does not consumes a licence

I unchecked everything for the procloud users and it works fine for read only, and they can still write to discussions on WebEA
