Cannot save the zoom on a diagram

Hello,

I'm pretty sure that it used to be possible in EA to change the zoom on a diagram by using the Pan & Zoom view e.g. + or -  and save the diagram. When the diagram was opened again, the latest saved zoom ratio was applied.
With EA 15 and 16, if I change the zoom ratio, I'm not prompted to save the diagram.
It's only through the diagram properties > Diagram > Default Zoom + Set as default that I can update it. But this is not as simple as using Pan & Zoom.

Is there an option to change this behaviour, ou could it be possible to revert the previous behaviour of making it possible to save the zoom when modified via the Pan & Zoom view?

As far as I know, there is no way to change this behaviour. If I understand correctly, as you said, changes made by Pan & Zoom or Ctrl+Wheel are saved on older versions. But because of this behaviour, a temporary change by one person will affect other people so they will have to undo the zoom ratio.

I found the old behaviour very annoying and I think the current behaviour is reasonable.

Thank you for your feedback.
I agree with your example and it's interesting since both are valid i.e. being able to save the zoom or disable this behaviour.
Ideally an option in EA preferences or in the project settings would be nice to select either one. I will submit it as a feature request.

On the behaviour on older versions, I may be wrong and perhaps it never happened, yet I'm pretty sure it did.

The diagram properties dialog (Context Menu > Properties > Diagram) includes an option to save the zoom as the default when you are intentionally making the change for future users opening the diagram.
