EA 11 trial prohibits add-in debugging?
« on: October 07, 2014, 03:39:40 am »
Hi all,

I just downloaded the EA 11.1.1112 trial version to estimate the effort of migrating our add-ins (developed for EA 10) to the new version.

First of all, I registered all add-ins as usual, so they showed up as Enabled within EA.
As expected during testing the add-in functionality, there showed up some  broken behavior -> Time to start the debugger!
I am developing with VS 2013 and usually debug the add-in directly via the "Start external program" option in the Debug properties.

After starting up the solution, EA prompted the following:

OK I thought this has something to do with the VS debug start up and tried attaching VS to the already started EA 11 process, but unfortunately this ended the EA process, which then crashed VS.

Is there anyone else out there who experienced this behavior and if so, is there any new issues one has to take care of when developing with EA 11?

I've seen this before, yes.
Best send an email to Sparx support then.

I'm afraid that you can't debug due to the TRIAL version. Try the EA 10 trial to check so.

Hi,

Yes, i have experienced the same thing in EA trial version 10 and 11. You cannot debug the addin, but you can build the Addin and open EA to test it

Thanks,
