Newbie Question - How to save as older version
« on: October 07, 2015, 09:08:56 am »
We just started a project for a company and using EA for the first time.  A company employee recommended we buy Version 12 for our work as the company is moving towards that version in the medium term.  We did that, however, we now find out that their current standard to submit with is V10.

Is there a way to work in V12 and then when we are to submit the .eap file, we can save as a V10 file format?

I did a search through the forum but was not able to find any references about backward saving capabilities.

Thanks
Don

The file format is the same. Changes are 99% related to GUI and 1% to something else but not the file format. So you can happily work with both versions concurrently.

  • One shouldn't take chances especially when it is a customer requirement.
  • As you've purchased V12, you're free to download and use any older versions. There are recent posts on how to do it or contact sparx support.
