selecting connectors

I am using EA 4.51 desktop edition
I have a very busy deployment diagram with lots of nodes and connectors between them. I am trying to create a new diagram reusing most of the nodes and connectors from the existing diagram. However when I selected
paste elements as new only the nodes and components are pasted but not the connectors.

It does work if I pasted as a link but thats not what I require as any changes to the new drawing would then be reflected in the old one.

Just an idea.

You could try exporting the original to XMI, and then re-importing it to a different part of the model with "Strip GUID's" checked.
