Connector label not showing on diagram
« on: May 29, 2006, 01:10:38 am »
Hi

Has anybody run into the situation where connector labels do not show on diagrams?

I just finished linking my use cases to requirements which they realize in the Relationship Matrix. Next I want to show this visually on a diagram. But putting the use case and the related requirement onto the digaram, the connector between them doesn't show a realize sterotype.

I tried fiddling around with the diagram options but it doesn't seem to affect this behaviour.

Any ideas?

If I delete the connection (which was established using the Relationship Matrix) between a use case and requirement on a diagram using Del key, and then link the use case again with the requirement, this time with drag and drop linker, then the connector will now show the connection sterotype like I wanted!

Possible bug in EA?

There is a button on the Current Connector toolbar (the menu toolbar, not the tool box) that is labelled Show/Hide Connector Lables. You'll have to look for it.

This brings up a dialog that allows you to specify which of the 6 labels to show for that connector. Of course, there has to be some text in the label before any of them will be visible on a diagram. I think you have to do this for each connector; there does not appear to be a global or per-diagram preference setting.

Off hand I do not know any default menu sequence for this, nor do I know if there is a hot key.
No, you can't have it!
