It says in the EA help that you can turn this off by an option on the 'Other' menu but I can't see that option is there something I must do first?

"The text formatted with this attribute are protected from the editing changes. The protected text appears with a light shade in the window. This function is available only when the protection lock is turned off. The protection lock can be turned off by using an option from the Other menu."
