StateMachine element behaviour

Hi,
I got something funny alright with the State Machine element from the UML State toolbox. Not sure whether is normal behaviour, but it looks weird to me.
For some reason, when you drag the element out from the toolbox, automatically it generates a StateMachine Diagram beneath of it. But, no trace of the composite sign on it and you can’t either double click on the created element to get access to that diagram. Is that a normal behavior?.
