Difference btw Swimlane and Partition/Activity D.
« on: September 22, 2009, 03:03:22 am »
In the activity diagrams it is possible to create an Swimlane  - right click and then Swimlanes and Matrix.
Or it is possible to create Partition - an Behaviorial elements for Activity diagram.

I cannot know what is the semmantic difference between them.

What is the correct element to use when I want to say that an activity is done by a specific Person/Role/Organization Unit.

Thanks.

UML 2.x uses Activity Partitions.  We use them for that purpose.  Swimlanes are a hang-over from UML 1 .x.

Be careful, though... Because of EAUI, they may not work quite as you expect.
