Reading EA RTF reports in OpenOffice?
« on: October 25, 2005, 10:11:02 am »
Hi,

When I load RTF reports into OO the report is like the EA 'internal view' EXCEPT I get the EA model 'class names / tags' instead of their values eg

<Pkg.Name>.
<Element.Name>

etc

The images and the table layouts etc are fine.

If I load the report into Wordpad I get the values but no image!

Anyone know whats going on here?

Oh yes.. I dumped Micro$not Office years ago...

Without looking I'd say that there is a basic version mismatch between Sparx's use of the randomised text file format and that of open office.  The variances between the different versions of the rtf spec issued by Microsoft over the years is enormous.  I do not regard it as a viable cross platform interchange at all.
