Error at Import DB2 for iSeries Schema from ODBC
« on: March 18, 2008, 06:40:07 am »
Hi there. I am trying to import a DB2 for iSeries database and I continue receiving "[IBM]iSeries Access ODBC Driver[DB2 UDB]SQL 0204-SYSCHECKS ON SYSIBM type *FILE NOT FOUND" error. This error is preventing to import the check constrainsts as well as the views definition from the schema. The rest od the model is imported ok. Any advise? I have installed the latest service pack of the driver and EA 7.1. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

First, report this to Sparx directly. Use the Report a Bug link below the Support link near the bottom of any forum page.

Meanwhile, here are a couple of long shots. These are guesses but they might be enough.

Have you checked parameters like the version of DB2? [I have not looked at the EA documentation for this, but you should take a look yourself to make sure your version is one that EA understands.]

Another thing. Is it possible that your DB2 database makes reference to outside files? Something along the lines of Oracle and SQL Server being able to store information relating to text in files that are not themselves in the database. Perhaps this is the 'file' that is not being 'found.'

HTH, David

Midnight, thanks for your suggestion. I just have sent the issue to Sparx few minutes ago.

Currently, I am using DB2 for iSeries V5R4 and certainly and EA documentation says it is supported.

And I am not using any external objects (like SQL Server or Oracle ones) connected to my db2 schema.

Did you mention everything that you can think of about your configuration? [That might not be more that in your post above, of course.]

Any progress on this?

I'm having the same issue, the SYSCHECKS view doesn't exist in DB2 iSeries the nearest is SYSCHKCST but of course that may not have the same columns/usage.

George.
