Notes on screen elements not shown
« on: May 22, 2008, 09:50:34 pm »
On a User interface diagram, I have screen element with notes. These notes are not shown in the form.

I have enabled the following checkboxes:
* Diagram properties --> Tab Elements --> Notes
* On my Screen element --> Feature Visibility --> Notes

However, they still are not shown.

For Requirement elements / diagrams it does work this way. Is this really a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

What I suspect is that a Screen shape doesn't support comparements (nor Notes comparement).

Ok. It would have been useful for me. Thanks anyway.

I suspect - without proof - that screen elements are meant to retain their shape and size so that they more accurately depict what will be displayed on the final screen. [It is unlikely that your text box, for example, would show notes in production.]

Perhaps you can get something workable by attaching an external note to the screen element, and having it display the appropriate text.

In the EA Help index look up Note | Link to Element Feature.
