"Lost" test cases on upgrading versions
« on: July 25, 2008, 08:05:09 pm »
I'm wondering if anyone has come across the issue of test cases becoming invisible with in the 'Testing' view on going to a newer version.

I have a project file that I inherited which was originally created in one of the version 6 editions which I've modified in a version 7 edition. I added a test case in the normal way and according to the Testing view, it was the only one in the project.

I created a test report in the normal way (right-click on package, documentation --> test reports...) and was somewhat surprised to see a 17-page document containing about 20 test cases other than the one I had just written. Has anyone else come across this bug/feature?

Is there a simple solution. I realise that the older test cases have not been lost, but the fact that they no longer appear in the GUI is less than desirable.

Thanks in advance,

umlaut1.

Just wondering; this is a long shot but...

Did the 'missing' test cases have customized status, type, or whatever settings? If so, try exporting the appropriate reference data from the older project and importing it into the new one. Does that help?

No, you can't have it!
