Using "Del"-Key in OjectBrowser does not
« on: July 25, 2008, 08:11:08 pm »
The behaviour in Project Browser by using "Del" is not Windows Like.

By Selection on an Item and press "Del" the Item will not delete.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Project
2. Select Item in Project Browser
3. press "del"-Key for delete

-->   Item will not delete

==> Expected is, that the Item will Delete after confirmation-Dialog.

Ctrl+Del does what you want. As the confirmation dialog can be bypassed, the Del key on its own would be too easy to hit accidentally.

And take a look at any of the hundreds of variants of the PARC guidelines for user interfaces.

There should always be a confirmation of actions that could permanently damage the data. The usual case in point involves making permanent deletion too easy.
No, you can't have it!
