BPMN SubProcess Expansion/Collapse not working
« on: March 29, 2008, 11:56:23 pm »
Hello,

The version being used is EA 7.1.

The support of BPMN SubProcess notation doesn't seem to be correctly working.

There is no action when "+" sign is clicked for a SubProcess. There seems to be no way to collapse or expand a SubProcess when required.

Please comment..

Thanks,
Rohit

I have the same concern. Can anyone explain how to achieve this?

To start: I am new to EA, therefore there might be a better solution than the following:

Use a composite diagram:
Right Mouse button on the Sub-process Activity -> Advanced -> Make Composite

By this you have a new diagram linked to the activity. But there is no "collapse" or "expand" functionality as requested.

The BPMN functionality is in Tags not the standard properties, you need to change the Activity type to 'Sub-Process' and hopefully that (plus changing any of the other tags as needed) should sort this for you.

For what it's worth...

This is better explained in the EA 7.5 documentation. At this time 7.5 is in beta and the documentation is a work in process, but even at this stage there has been marked progress.
No, you can't have it!
