Enumerations don't respond to Default coloring
« on: April 22, 2009, 12:46:20 pm »
We use Metafile default coloring adornments to render Enumerations (UML Stereotype «enumeration»)  with specific backgrounds, borders and fonts colourings etc.

With v7.5, these adornments disappeared.  You can't use the Settings|UML... Stereotypes to control the rendering of Enumerations.

Steps to reproduce:
Create an Enumeration.  Create the corresponding stereotype rendering using default coloring.  Observe rendering will NOT apply...

You're not referring to metafiles are you?  I gave it a try, and it worked for metafiles.  It didn't work for alternate colours.

With EAUI, one is never REALLY sure what one is referring to.  I'm specifically saying that I'm trying to alter the rendering of the object using default colors area.  The (*) Metafile radio button is checked... If that doesn't mean use metafiles then I'd suggest THAT's EAUI.  NOTE: I haven't changed the dialog from what EA presents by default.

Is that clearer?

I just set the Override appearance to (*) None and nothing changed (on a working stereotype with default coloring).

So what does (*) None mean?  Don't override appearance?  If I'm setting default coloring, am I overriding the appearance?  I would have thought so...

This whole section looks a mess...

Perhaps Roy could chime in with the three or four use cases that apply and show how to achieve them...

The use case I'm referring to is:  Change the appearance of the item by setting the default coloring by stereotype.  How should the dialog look if I'm enacting that use case?

All the other stereotypes using default coloring work...
