Visual Execution Analyzer: Debug Crashes EA Pro
« on: June 01, 2009, 03:10:52 pm »
Hello,

After importing a Java source directory and build scripts, building and then selecting  "Build and Run->Debug" on the root package, a dialog with the following pops-up just before EA crashes...

Error signature
AppName ea.exe  AppVer: 7.5.0.843  ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.26005781  Offset: 0000a378

The jre setting is jre=c:\opt\java\jdk-6u11-windows-i586-p and the jar containing a class with the main method is compiled against 1.6.0_11.

The code is single-threaded.

There are two active breakpoints on the first and last lines of code in main(final String[] args) which are set as the start recording and end recording breakpoints, respectively.

I have the dump file but do not see how to attach it in the forum--is truncated when pasted into the 'new post' textarea--er, maybe the "you'll be adding code" checkbox will allow me to do that on the next screen???

Thanks,
mr.T

Am told this is fixed in the latest version.

After confirming same later this week, I will add details next Monday relevant to the defect which were not already covered in the original post.

If there is nothing to add, that will be noted too.

This issue unfortunately was not reported until after the release of EA build 844. The issue has been resolved and included in build 845 which is now available.
Any users having similar problems with build 843 should download build 845, or if unable to upgrade, email support at Sparx systems for a resolution.
