Network error when connecting to server (7.5)
« on: July 15, 2009, 10:54:13 pm »
Hi all,

When attempting to connect to a SQL server I get the error:

"Enterprise Architect experienced a newtork error and will close down."

The full settings I am using are:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Windows NT Integrated security (with a domain admin account that my IT guys have assured me has permissions to the server and target database)

The Test Connection facility reports success.

I have checked the event logs, googled and searched in the help and forums but no joy.

Can anyone give me a starting point to diagnose this?

I have Visual Studio 2008 with Team System installed on Windows XP Professional.

Thanks for any help.

Jean

I assume you've created a SQL Server schema to hold your project. Have you done a project transfer to move your project (or an empty seed project) from an EAP file? If not, that step must be done before EA will 'cooperate' with SQL Server.
No, you can't have it!
