EA Profiles vs. UML2: AssociationRole not usable
« on: August 06, 2009, 11:37:42 pm »
The UML metamodel, as implemented in EA 7.1.830, is not compliant with the official UML2 metamodel: The UML1/EA metaclass "AssociationRole" does no longer exist in UML2.

Effect: As the EA metaclass "AssociationRole" (and not, say, "Feature") is the only way to specify stereotypes for association ends, an export (via COM interfaces) inevitably creates erroneous UML2 model data. Hence, the integration of EA in a strictly UML2-compliant tool-chain fails, once it relies on tagged data at association ends.
