Filters in Virtual Documents
« on: December 24, 2009, 09:40:50 pm »
Hi all,

when generating RTF documentation from a simple package applying one template, it is possible to configure powerful filters to decide whether or not to include certain entities and connectors.
My issue is I don't manage to make this work when generating RTF documents using Virtual Documents and several templates. Is it possible to use these filters when using virtual documents? It just doesn't work or rather the procedure is different?

Thank you very much in advance.

I'm a master in virtual documents now  ;D
So let me just say what I know.

You have a master document with 1 or more model documents

You can press F8 on each model document to generate the single part of your documentation. When presing F8, you can see a tab "Element Filters" and a tab "Other Filters". You can switch to such a tab, and play with filters. Then go to the tab "Generate" and press button Generate. If the filters work the way you want, you can make them fixed for this template.

You do this by going to the template editor (with that template) and then go to File > Document Options
You will see the 2 tabs again. implement your filters here, save the template, and ready :-)

Hope this helps.
