Basic UML 2 Technology interferes with rendering
« on: November 26, 2010, 05:52:56 pm »
I'm increasingly becoming frustrated with the way in which the Basic UML 2 Technology MDG is interfering with the rendering of stereotypes.

I'm reverse engineering databases and I have some nice coloured renderings for the «table», «view», «procedure» & «function».  However, if the Basic UML 2 Technology MDG is enabled, these rendering are overriden by the "plain" renderings of the MDG.

This is not acceptable.  Other users have also complained about unexpected results and didn't know why.
While this is being sorted out, is there any other way around it?  Can I leave the Basic UML 2 Technology MDG turned off?

Do I need to produce a bug report?

Thoughts?

Unfortunately, you can't turn off Basic UML technology - because then you can't create standard diagrams!

Besides my signature line, I have another saying that I'm known for:
"It's better to be consistently wrong than inconsistently wrong".

Today I discovered that in this functionality (as in many others), EA is inconsistently wrong!

 «table», «view» &  «procedure» renderings are overridden by the MDG, but «function» isn't...

It IS enough to make one's blood boil!

It creates havoc among the punters whom one is trying to get onto the "modelling band wagon".
