Floating license key server - "No keys available"
« on: March 09, 2011, 10:02:03 am »
We recently had to move our keyserver from one machine to another. I can connect to the keyserver (the "test" button works), but I cannot get a license, the "Select a Product" text box says "No Keys available."

However the key server shows 6 keys available, and the license.

Any ideas?

cheers
Geoff

If Enterprise Architect is reporting that there are no keys available in your keystore, this may indicate that you are actually accessing a different key store repository to the one where your licenses have been entered.  If you are referencing the Keystore Service from EA (E.g. ssks://servername), make sure that you are also correctly linking to the service from within the Keystore Manager and not directly to a local sskeys.dat file.

In the Keystore Manager application (running on the server):
- From the main menu, select "File | Link To"
- Select "Sparx Keystore Server" and enter "ssks://localhost" into the Server Address field
- Click "Test" to confirm that connection to the service is successful, then click OK.

If the "localhost" Key Store does not contain any keys, right-click on your other "sskeys.dat" Key Store and select "Migrate To" and specify "ssks://localhost" as the destination.  Delete the "sskeys.dat" key store from the list after all keys have been successfully migrated.  Try connecting to the keystore server from Enterprise Architect again and you should now be able to access your licenses.

HTH.
