Possible Solution for the 904 & 905 crash issu

I think I may have found a solution to the crash issue people are having with the new release.

To fix the problem try the following:
NB!!! These steps were tested on Windows XP only

1. Uninstall the application.
2. Delete the “Sparx Systems” directory from the Program Files folder e.g. c:\Program Files\Sparx Systems
3. Delete the “Sparx Systems” directory for the current user
e.g. on Windows XP delete C:\Documents and Settings\joeblogs\Application Data\Sparx Systems
and on Windows 7 delete c:\users\joeblogs\Appdata\Roaming\SparxSystems
4. Delete the following key in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sparx Systems
5. Restart the workstation
6. Install the new Version 9 software
7. Launch the program
8. Enter your license key (if using a fixed license)
9. You're good to go (if you're lucky)

thanks for you suggestion but unfortunatley i have to say i doesn't work ( at least for me)

However on Win7 i had to look in C:/users/johndoe/Appdata/Roaming/SparxSystems

Build was 905

maybe the next idea works!

You're right about the location of the user directory being different for Win 7. I'll edit the steps to include that.

I tried these steps on Win 7 64 bit with only change that I went ahead and deleted all registry entries for "Sparx Systems". After that the 9.904 EA ran fine after a fresh install. I did not even restart the machine after clearing the registry. Thanks to intrepid..

Hello,

now my next step during the odysee:

Installed the ea9 9.04 like intrepid suggested -> doenst work
Installed EA9 905-TRIAL TRIAL works
Want to fill the license-key into the TRIAL ( Help - Register and manage license-Keys)

and.... CRASH  

I new IDEA - i'm going out for running now.... And wait for the next build!
