Imported package cannot be edited (906)
« on: May 27, 2011, 08:22:17 am »
I exported a package (using 906) from an EAP file.
I imported into SQL Server repository.

After import, although unlocked for editing, I cannot change anything (OK buttons etc remain greyed out).

Has anyone encountered this, and got a work around?

I tried importing an archived version of the package (created by version 8).

Oddly it works fine.

When I compare the two files I see a lot of
Code: [Select]
object_style="Locked=true;" that are not in the older file.

OK, so I edited the XML changing it to locked=false.
Imported and now I can edit some entities, but some objects (eg diagrams) were still not editable.

So it looks like there is something wrong with the 9.0 export

Sparx have acknowledged there is a bug.

They have suggested a work around that worked for me

Toggling the security mode "Require User Lock to Edit" off, then on again will clear all locks in the Project.
