FORUM OPERATION:  Searching the forum
« on: June 13, 2011, 06:29:01 am »
I know this forum is for bug reports and questions about EA, but I couldn't find anywhere else to post a question about this forum and its "Search the Forum" box on the upper right.

I type in "replica" to find past discussions about design masters and replicas.  I know there are some because I started some over the last couple of years or so.  But, before today (when I posted a new message about replicas), I got no results.  Now, after I posted mine, I get that one as a result but no others.

Is there a trick to searching the forum?

Yes, the only way to search to forum effectively is to use the Search Button (centre of the top five buttons on the left hand side).

The forum appears configured so that the defaults for the search box (top right) only appears to search the last three months.

OTOH you can set search parameters to more usefully search for a year or all posts. Unfortunately the max posts it will return is 100, and there is no way of seeing the next 100  :-/
