Adding a class to a Class Diagram --> disarray

EA version 7.0.817

Every time I add a class to an existing diagram, the whole diagram shows in disarray. It takes me quiet an amount of time to re-edit it and put the classes in the order they were before.

Is there anything I can do, to just keep the existing order, and just have the new added classes on top?

Do we know for sure that adding a new class to an existing class diagram
will not alter the position of the already existing objects in the current diagram?
 was this fixed in EA version 8 or 9?

I can't think of any circumstances where that would happen. Could you send before and after screenshots to Sparx Support please, along with a description of how you are adding the class.

The situation that I can think of that could potentially cause behavior like that is if adding something to the diagram was somehow reloading the state of all other objects from the database.

This would mean that until the diagram is saved each existing object would be reverted to where it was first dropped on the diagram.

Not sure what you refer to when you say "reloading the state of all other objects from the database". Which database? I was adding a Java class form a file directory.

I have upgraded EA to 9.x and I tried adding a class and the diagram did not change.  Will keep an eye on what scenario causes this reshuffle, if I run into this behavior again, now with EA version 9.x.
