Arithmetic overflow error converting IDENTITY ...
« on: January 25, 2012, 10:36:07 am »
Lost Control/Object Flow links when connecting activities.

The following is the steps that created the problem:

1. Created a new package/dummy activity diagram
2. Added activities to diagram..
3. Attempted to add control flows – 4 error msgs…2 unique ones…..each displayed twice (source/destination) error msgs for links?
4. Right-clicking in diagram and selecting Properties->Links – no links are shown in Links tab
5. Diagram will show links…until the diagram is closed and re-opened…at which time…no links are displayed

The following is the error message:

Error message received: Arithmetic overflow error converting IDENTITY to data type int.

Any ideas what may be causing this?

Thanks,
Mark

Yes, with step 3, I get 2 error messages -

"Arithmetic overflow.... " and "Operation is not allowed in this context".

If I click "ok", the error messages disappear and I see the link, until I close the model and reopen.

The version is 7.5.849
Thanks,
Mark

You DB seems to be cluttered. Try to export the whole thing to XMI and build it anew in another repository.

Or try Tools|Data Management|Reset IDs...
