General Board / Owner (Schema) name in project browser

Hello,

I am doing some physical DB modeling and would like to be able to see the Owner of the tables in the Project Browser. This is basically the DB schema into which the tables are created.

The reason for this is that I have several tables with the same name but in different schemas (= different Owners).

I am using EA 12 and my target DB is SQL Server 2012.

Any way of displaying this in the Project Browser so that I know exactly which table I am selecting when they have identical names?

Hi,

I have a DB diagram with several very large tables. I need to make new tables that are almost identical. Is there any way to make a copy of the existing tables and modify those instead of creating completely new ones?

Hi,

a client of mine is using EA version 10. The client is also using a central repository to store the models in SQL Server.

I have EA 12 installed on my PC. Will this be causing any problems of I work on their models?
Can I connect to the repository and make changes to the model with my Version 12 or do I need to install the older version?

Hi,

I'm in the process of creating an DB model and it would be very useful to be able to copy columns which I re-use very often from one table to another. Is there any way to do this?

I am using EA 10.

General Board / DDL Generation not always working for DB Model

Hi,

I am working with EA V. 10.0.1007 on a Data Model that several people had worked on. When I try to generate the DDL for some of the tables in the model, it only works some of the time. The DDL includes the DROP statement but the CREATE statement is not generated. The comments and ALTER TABLE statements are also generated in the script.

Does anyone know exactly what setting is causing this?

General Board / DFM Icon not displaying name?

Hi,

I am in the process of creating a DFM and all of a sudden when I try to add a new cylinder shape (or something similar as well) from the Toolbox, the name won't display on the diagram. The existing shapes are all showing their names but the names of the new ones are not visible.

Is there a setting for this somewhere?
