Sparx,

I would really appreciate it if I could have this acknowledged. Is this something that can be easily done now? Is this a feature for a future release? Is this not even under consideration?

Thanks,

Rich

General Board / Import COM Object into EA Diagram

All,

I have a COM object for which I'm writing a convenience wrapper. Since this component is freely distributable, I have the blessing of the author. Can I directly import this into an EA diagram? Essentially, I want to have the "original" imported classes to use to generate  "starting point" classes for my wrapper.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Rich

T.Kouno,

I appreciated your reply. It is a bit interesting; it only appears if you have changed the template. In a way this makes sense, you probably would not want to export the "standard" template.  However, at a first glance, is not 100% clear you can export these if you have not modified the template.

Thanks,

Rich

To the best of my knowledge, the only solution is to copy and paste several blocks of text for each language. From an efficiency standpoint, this does not cut it.

All,

I want to create "custom" code templates on my machine and share these with other team members. Is there an easy way to do this? Is copy and paste the only way?

Thanks,

Rich

All,

It would be nice to have all the .Net classes available as base classes.

What would also be really nice would be the ability to create new classes by aggregating classes, even sealed classes, and creating a wrapper to expose their methods. For sealed classes, it would provide a way to mimic inheritance. At this point, I do not wish to engage in a discussion about the potential issues with this; it would just be a nice option for certain situations.
