General Board / Image quality/resolution

We have a JAVA application that reads from EA and writes an OpenOffice document.

For some of our objects in EA, we use an alternative image.  This image was done in PowerPoint and saved as a .jpg image.  Therefore the alternative image is a .jpg.

However the image appears very blurry in the generated document.  The image is also blurry in EA.  

Why is this - what are we doing wrong?

Good day,

I am new to the whole modelling environment.  I have look at the video demonstrations and also read parts of the user guide of Enterprise Architect.  I want to know how to model the following (from a system analyst perspective):

1.  The default value that must be displayed for a specific field
2.  The lookup list that is available for a specific field
3.  The messages that must be displayed to the user if a business rule returns an error
4.  Complex logic for the update of database columns.

If possible I would like to model it in such a way that it will be included in my generated code.  

Any help/tip will be appreciated.
