Suggestions and Requests / Fully Qualified Names
« on: July 19, 2006, 08:29:25 am »
Can we have better support for "fully qualified names" in EA?

They are useful on diagrams to enable readers (and analysts ;)) to understand diagrams and vital whenever it's necessary to select an object? :'( For instance when selecting the type for an attribute, without seeing the fully qualified name it's impossible to select the correct name when classes with the same name are in packages with the same in different parts of a model - something that is very likely to happen if you're working at several levels of abstraction (business, requirements, implementation, etc).

David,

Not for me: I only get "(from <package>)" under objects which are packages  :(.

Thomas,

(replying to your earlier post re using ""Highlight foreign objects") This only seems to work when the object is a package :(

How you turn a post like this into a feature request without retyping it?  ???

Guys,

Are there any recommendations on how to combine the use of version control, replicas and baselines?

Thanks,

Paul
