This one is a hang over from my Rose days.
When in a diagram highlight one or more elements and have a locate to current package option. The elements would then be moved into the current package and the browser refreshed.
Use it lots to organise models

But as all these appear as document properties, wouldn't it be nice to be able to insert document property fields into the template.
If going this far then it would also be great if we could set a template file (as .dot) for templates.
Then could change fonts/paragraph styles for numerous rtf templates quickly

I've seen a similar post but I want to ask it in a different way.
As a Business Analyst we have produced the requirements set (Requirements, Domain Model, Use Case Model).

A new CTO has joined the company and wants to start developing releases on an extremely agile basis with product releases every month.
The content of the requirements is still the same, only now we have to determine how much of a Use Case can be completed within a two week development period. This means that I have to divide up the Use Cases and apply each Scenario to a development iteration.

Is there anything in EA that can help me with this?

Is there anybody out there that does something similar that can explain what they do?

Take a look at the Zachman Framework add-in. Good starting point for Enterpise Architecture projects. Could say it has certain 'impact' in EA.

There are the others as well (TOGAF,DODAF etc). Take a look at the Standards panel to the left of the Sparx home page

Are you creating a new element of type activity, or 'copying' the element from the template package.

I don't have this problem on elements but have something similar on some diagrams, can't fully work out which.

I tried deleting the author from the element and then saving it. Keeps setting it next time its opened.

Is there a way to do this so that all diagrams, or diagrams of a specific type have a default appearance setting.

e.g. I want to set Show alias if available on by default

Our developers have advised they were aware of this bug and it will be fixed in the next build (834) of EA.

I'm having this problem too, but it appears to be a bit hit and miss.

On some diagrams I can wrap the label text on others I cannot. I haven't worked out the difference yet.

Think I'll send a bug report.

Not sure if this is a bug or something I have done/not done in my MDG Technology.

There are three diagram types extended from
a) UML::Activity Diagram
b) Extended::Custom Diagram
c) UML::CompositeStructure

When a diagram of type a) is created no Diagram Details are displayed by default
When a diagram of type b) is creted Diagram details are shown but the Author is always me, regardless of who creates it
When a diagram of type c) is created Diagram details are shown and the Author is correct.

There is no difference between the diagram definitions in the profile, and no attributes I can see that can be set to change this behaviour.

Are these supposed to record the values in all the Tabs in the RTF Template Editor because my documents are not holdingthe Advanced Tab settings.

I want to skip the root package and limit the Heading Levels, but this information is not being retained in the Resource document.

I've set up my template, generated a document on the required package and it looks ok, so I saved it as a resource document. When I auto-generate the resource document i get the root package reporting!!

Uml Process / UML and partial inheritance

I've forgotten part of my modelling.

We have a situation where there are a number of classes that derive their behaviour. The Parent class has a set of operations that the child class needs. However they do not necessarily need all of the operations.

If I use inheritance and show inherited operations, all operations are inherited.

How do I model what is really required?
