General Board / Re: How to Build DODAF Diagrams?
« on: March 11, 2014, 10:48:51 pm »
Hi, thanks for this reply. Do you use DODAF yourself, and if so, which diagrams from which add-ins have you yourself been using for DODAF views?

Thank you!

General Board / How to Build DODAF Diagrams?
« on: March 11, 2014, 07:19:47 am »
Hello, I have a basic question for building DODAF diagrams using EA. I have included in my EA baseline the BPMN components. However, I would have expected the ability to create DODAF based diagrams that represent DODAF views (e.g. OVs, SVs, SvcVs, etc.). However, such views do not appear to be available. The only BPMN diagram types available appear to be BPEL, Business Process, Choreography, Collaboration, and Conversation diagrams.

How am I to build my OV-2, OV-5a, SV-4, SvcV-5 from these?

Any reply is greatly appreciates. Thank you

General Board / Re: Diagram Styles

Thank you. This was very helpful, as I was able to create diagram templates as per your recommendation, and it works now for new diagrams.

However, if I have a pre-existing diagram (created before I had my my template package), is there a way to auto-update the diagram to reflect the template. I am hoping that there is a way to do that.

Thanks for any additional info for apply template to existing diagrams.

General Board / Diagram Styles
« on: March 15, 2014, 12:32:25 am »
Hello,

I would like certain elements, connectors, and diagram types always have certain custom styles for colors, lines, borders, etc. I see a section in the user guide for text and paragraph styles for RTF, but cannot find how to fix styles for diagrams and diagram objects. There appear to be style-related tools on the diagram toolbar, but I don't know how to use it correctly. I create a number of elements, gave them a certain color, and saved that as a new style (assuming that every time I add a new element of the same type to the diagram, it would have the color I chose). Anyway, that didn't work as expected (i.e., new element had old default color).

Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

General Board / Connector Layout - Getting Connectors to Combine
« on: March 14, 2014, 08:44:39 am »
Hello,
I have diagrams with aggregation connectors where I want them to combine to a single endpoint where they aggregate to. However, I have not been able to figure out how to do that (in other words, still a separate diamond endpoint for each connector). I tried different options in the diagram layout, but nothing worked.

Any solution greatly appreciated. Thank you.

General Board / Right Click Doesn't Work on Mac
« on: March 09, 2014, 08:35:04 am »
Hello, I am running EA via crossover on a Mac. I am aware that right-clicking should bring up context menus. However, when I perform a right-click in EA from my Mac (which is CNTL->MouseClick).

Is right click a different key sequence with EA on Mac than CNTL->MouseClick?

I would be grateful for any help. Thank you very much.

Thank you. That was helpful. I am too much of a newbie right now to create scripts, but could see myself getting into that down the road.

General Board / Newlines in Connector Labels
« on: March 11, 2014, 01:39:19 am »
Hello, is there a way to place newlines inn connector labels? Using the size adjusters right on the diagram is ok, but it does not allow me to align line-by-line in the label exactly as I would like.

Grateful for any response. Thank you.

General Board / (newbie) Make Element Background Solid
« on: March 09, 2014, 02:50:23 am »
Hello, I cannot seem to find a way to make the background of an element a solid color rather than a gradient (gradually lighter from one side to the other). Is there a way to address this? thanks for any reply.
