General Board / Objects don't snap to grid
« on: November 29, 2002, 06:28:38 am »
Hi everybody
I'm new in using the UML. I'm currently looking for a modelling tool that fits my needs for a reasonable price.
I'm impressed of EA, compliment to Geoffrey Sparks  ;). It offers a lot of functions you only can find in much more expensive tools.
For this time, I just have a small question:
If you drag a object from the toolbar to the diagram, it doesn't snap to the grid, although it is enabled in the 'Local Options'. Is there a way to ensure snapping?

Thanks for all suggestions!

Thanks you for the suggestion,

but i have to bring an already known element (choosen by user from a list of relevant elements in a custom view) into users sight. This could be done by selecting this element in the project tree.
Unfortunately there seems to be no way of influencing the user interface behavior of EA.

Regards,
Mario

Hi, is there a way to
* select an element in the tree view of the project view
and
* to open its property dialog
from within an Add-in. There seems to be no method like "SelectElement(int ElementID)" and "ShowPropDlgElement(int ElementID)" in EA's automation interfaces.

Thank you for all replies,
Mario
