I'm currently defining my organisations business processes (approx. 100) using the BPMN notation supported within Sparx EA. This is being received very well by the business and IT. SOA is being pilotted, so this fits well with the desire to use BPEL.

However, I constantly get asked which activities are manual and which are automated/services when people review the printed diagrams. I know that I can set the tagged value for Task Type to user, manual and service, but no icon is displayed within the diagram to show this.

Can Sparx EA show icons for these types or be enhanced to show them? :-/

The business has seen other modelling tool diagrams (e.g ‘BizAgi’ and its free) that does show task type and are starting to ask if Sparx EA is the right tool. I still believe it is as it offers a lot more than just BPMN models.

P.S. a minor point is that the connectors do not have rounded corners which seems to go against the BPMN notation.
P.P.S. When will EZ be BPMN 2.0 compatible?

I'd like to be able to create a glossary per project and extend hat is held against each. For example a single record that holds, internal term, external term, meaning.

I'd then really like some way of checking the project for terms used.

Its great to see feedback so quickly.

The underlying problem I have is not from the perspective of technical users, but from the perspective of the business user (aka the paying client). They don’t always have an understanding of the model representation supplied in a paper document that they may read independently.  The model/diagram needs to make this situation very clear.

As with any good feature within the tool, I would expect this to be configurable as part of say the connector style.

I would like to see a better rendering of crossing connectors along the lines of Visio and line jumping.

I'm currently building business process models and presenting these to my client in paper form. They are constaintly asking the same question, "are the lines joining or just crossing."

I have a medium sized BPM model that includes Linked documents that creates an RTF okay. I can view the document using the internal viewer. But when I try to open this with MS Word, word crashes

I've tried a few different RTF Templates, but I have the same problem.

Any ideas why this is happening?
