Allow the z-order for connectors to be specified, ie send back, forward, to back, to front.
So that connectors can be placed behind objects

I think we had a whole thread on this subject a long time ago. The reason we don't allow it is because it would be impossible to tell at a glance the difference between a line going behind an object and two lines attaching to an object.

I know I'm late to the party on this issue, but I have a few whacks for the dead horse.

You could add connector "dots" to show when a line actually connects with something v. crossing over or under it.  The dot would essentially be another "arrow head" that is used by default.

Leave it to the user how to deal with lines that cross over/under objects with which they have no interaction.  Create an option that forces the Z-order of connectors to be "on top" otherwise the user can edit the order.

At the least, let me put Notes at the top of the Z-Order so I can cover a section with a comment box and not have the connectors bleed through.  (I do have multiple reasons to cover a section with a Note box.)

I'm sure this is low priority and might already be solved (I'm a noob).

Our models have the users' login ID for the Author field, but these show up as "x12345" or "ajohnson", these are not quite as useful as we would like.

Suggest having an Author Alias table that is keyed by the login ID and contains information about the author.  We would find useful the following information:

• Real Name
• Corporation (we have subcontractors)
• Phone Number
• Email address
• AlwaysCC (email to subcontractors must be CC'd to this address)

Program options could determine how to display the author field on-screen and in reports.

Would be extremely handy to use that field to start an email to the author.

I would vote for the user-settable option whether to confirm or not.  And I would hope EA would not exit if there was any unsaved work without a Yes/No/Cancel confirmation regardless of the option setting.

Personally - I have EA open for hours (if not days) at a time - I would be just as happy to remove the "X" completely and have to select File > Exit from the menu to exit.

Does this thread imply that we would be able to select the [Alt Text] on connectors and use the various alignment/distribution tools on them (both the text and/or the connectors)?

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / How can I get the "Local Project path" setting?

I've searched the forums for "Local Project path" and the Java interface docs, and cannot find anything that will give up that path.  I need this for a routine that will automatically (read "correctly") put a package under individual version control, so I need to create a path within the version control system (per project rules) to contain the .xml file.

Any help is appreciated.
