The colors might be explained by an MDG not being enabled or a theme difference, however, if you look closely there is a loss of placement for some of the messages relative to the lifeline (the recursive / message to self for example).

If you are certain the diagram was saved before it was checked in then this could be a bug as there should not be any loss of fidelity in this situation.   Try to reproduce it with a fresh/new diagram within the same version controlled package.

it is a brand new diagram already in the same version control. It always works for me even I have a brand new PC and new EA installed, but it most likely to fail on other people any way.

I think you better report it as a bug.

I recently got the same complaint by email from another user (or was that you?)

If more people report this as a bug Sparx will probably fix it rather quickly.

Geert

I guess I don't know you in person, but I did send email to somebody I know about this issue. Anyway I reported it as a bug as you suggested, I still hope I can learn something here to tweak the tool to make it work.

Are both installations of EA using the same Diagram Themes?

At a guess the top example is Enterprise Architect 12 theme whereas the bottom one is Enterprise Architect 10

Just a thought

Phil

I created the top one and I used EA12 theme. I forced my EA to use EA10 theme the display is still good.

Check the versions of the MDGs you are using are the same and also that the options are the same.  It looks like you may have diffrerent colours defined for the various object types.

Paolo

How do I check?

This might probably happen if you have unsaved changes in the diagram. But once saved, both should look identical. Which versions do you use (you and your colleague)?

q.

I am pretty sure everything has been saved, otherwise I have no way to check it in to SVN.

I have Sparx EA v12, I created a sequence diagram and checked it in SVN. Please see the diagram below

it looks all well on my EA. My coworker got the latest copy of the diagram from SVN also in EA v12, but the displaying becomes

Ignore the color scheme, but all the message lines are in wrong place.

What shall I do to make them look identical?

P.S
More background info, it happens to more than 1 of my co-workers already so I begin to suspect something is wrong with me. But in the past I also had several PC reinstalled already, and I will install different versions of EA (from 9 all the way to 12). Even I restarted from a brand new EA installation regardless of the version, I always can open all the diagrams properly.

General Board / Re: Search node by GUID

The GUID is a sequence diagram. I used your EA Navigator I could locate it properly but the built-in search feature failed.

No luck. If I remove the where condition I can get all nodes back.

I used that query in search builder with my GUID (with or without {}), and I clicked run button. But nothing really happened.

If I know the GUID of the node, can I locate it in my model quickly?

General Board / HTML Report and Navigation Tree
« on: April 25, 2015, 01:16:51 am »
I exported my model to HTML report, I can use web browser to go from one diagram to another by following the relationship link.

But is there a way I can make the left side navigation tree to be expanded and auto selected of currently viewed diagram?

General Board / Traceability between Use Cases and Classes
« on: November 12, 2014, 06:26:24 am »
I have requirement diagram (with requirements), use case diagram (with use cases), class diagram (with classes) in my model.

In my use case diagram I draw the realization relationship between use cases and requirements to illustrate how requirements are realized.

Then I begin to create sequence diagram as child diagram for each use case. In my sequence diagram I use instance of class as lifeline.

Now the question is that is there a way in traceability matrix I can find out the relationships between my classes and use cases and/or requirements?

Really appreciated it. The feature will be very useful to me.

I will give it a try once you complete it.

Is there a plan you are going to implement it?
