I discovered why the message box with error appeared.
Most of the UML technologies were deselected within the MDG technology dialog.
If I enable Core UML all works.
However I suggest to convert the criptic error message in something more self explained

We use EA 17
we have installed C4 model downlaod from your website (built by lieber)
We try to create a package with a deployment diagram
EA create the package and answer with a dialog box with this message "Encountered an improper argument"
We enter ok and the model builder dialog appear with focus on diagram builder
we select UML structural
and the same error dialog appear again
we can do it forever...
if we activate the model builder tab we can select deplyment diagrams to create but...
If we do this we are not able to activate the reltaed toolbar we find inside the toolbar options .. but not founded
How can we insert deployment diagrams and use the related toobox?

I downloaded the Lieber c4 model from Sparx website
I tried to change the appearance of some stereotypes changing the attribute cx, cy and bgcolor inside the XML file before loading into EA
Changed cx and cy are taken into account but the bgcolor change don't work
I weant only to change the default appearance when the stereotype is created living the user the option to modify

General Board / how to maintain toolbars within EA IDE

We have EA 15.2
every time EA start the toolbars are now shown and we need to select and display them into  EA
how is it possible to maintain these toolbar in the EA IDE at the next startup?

General Board / Does EA support C# Generics class ?

I search the forum but most of the answer are very old...  I didn't open all the posts but it seems there aren't recent posts regarding this subject.
So I raise the questions hoping someone answer:

EA support code generation for classes referring C# generics types , suck like lists, dictionaries etc ?
EA support rev eng  of classes referring C# generics types , suck like lists, dictionaries etc ?

If this support is not available how to deal with? today I haven't seen C# source code without such references...

Today I open an old project where chart were defined to track the project evolution but the chart graphics are no more shown, or, to be more clear , they are shown as element having the chart type assigned with XML data and that's all.
Even more strange is the fact that it is no more possible to define them, the related toolbox disappeared.
EA version is 10.
Any thoughts?

I know this question has been issued more than 10 years ago.
I would like to know if now finally there is a solution for that.
The relevant point for me was not just only the element naming within diagram,  but also, and more important, the text written as notes.
is there a way to write notes in 2 languages, maybe using some wrapping keywords,  and when generating document in some way select the notes part for the wanted language?

I solved the problem just restarting EA... very strange.
I do not know the cause but just closing and reopening the project the BPMN elements was shown in the right way.

I don't remember having done something influencing the subject, but.. suddenly all the BPMN diagram show the elements with other icons (i.e. events are no more circle  but arrows, data stores are no more drums but rectangles..)
Some of you are able to help me restoring the standard notation?

I don't understand how and if it is possible to change the style for all the notes associated to elements, packages, diagrams etc within a generated document.
I realize that the standard style for notes is normal style let say times new roman + 10 size.
I tried  to change the note style within the used template but it doens't work
I read somewhere that the base style is derived from the cover template, but it is not clear how to change these styles...
even if I do not use any cover the problem is there
and even if i flag the checkbox : "use style defined in template for notes" nothing change.
Could you help?
