Do you know about the EAExample model? It's in the install directory of your copy of EA.

Please file a bug report (attach the relevant XMI) so we can verify what the source of the slow behavior is.

Also, have a look at the learning services page:
http://www.sparxsystems.com/resources/learning.html
Specifically at the demonstrations section:
http://www.sparxsystems.com/resources/demos/
and the whitepapers section:

These could have what you are looking for.

Also, if you look at the Main Menu under Element | Inline Features, you can tear that menu off to use as a toolbar.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Fullscreen mode for Diagram View

All of the docked windows (ie. Project View, Properties, Toolox etc) can be "auto-hidden" using the small pin icons in their top right hand corner.

This should provide an almost full screen experience, and still allow you access to all of the docked windows.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Log of Audit

At present, the options that will best suit your needs are Baselines and Version Control. The following links are to the online version of the help file to get you started.
Baselines
http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/EAUserGuide/index.html?baselines.htm
Version Control
http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/EAUserGuide/index.html?versioncontroloverview.htm

Complete audit trails are currently being integrated into Enterprise Architect and should be released with version 7.0 later in the year.

We are going to put together a whitepaper that will target some of the things that are currently lacking in the documentation.

There's no ETA, but watch this thread, and the whitepapers webpage http://www.sparxsystems.com/resources/whitepapers/index.html for updates.

Double-click on a diagram to open the Diagram Properties Dialog.

Under Appearance Options, find the two check boxes "Hide Attributes" and "Hide Operations" at the top of the third column of check boxes.

In the Help File

Suggestions and Requests / Re: UI - Zoom on cursor positon (ctrl+wheel)

How do you pan at the moment in EA?

Try holding Ctrl-Shift and moving the mouse.

Or (for the current versions) clicking the middle (third) mouse button will allow panning.

The fastest way to zoom a diagram in and out is by using the mouse wheel.

Hold the Control (CTRL) key and use the mouse wheel to Zoom in and out.

If you don't have a mouse wheel, there are no defined shortcuts for Zoom in and out. However, you can map some for yourself from within EA.

Tools -> Customise -> Keyboard(Tab at top)

From here you should be able to define your own shortcuts to Zoom in and out quickly.
-----------------------------------------------------------
The reason is because you are deleting the elements from a diagram, not a model.

In the Project Browser, you are deleting an element from the entire model. One model may contain many diagrams, so when you delete an element from a diagram, it is only deleted from that one diagram, not the entire model.

General Board / Re: managing requirements - using the baseline feature

Hi Ddave,

The audit facility is enabled on a per model/file basis. If you are using local repositories, it is optional to have Auditing enabled on these.

In your central repository, if Auditing is enabled and XMI Import is checked, then changes caused by version control will be recorded. However I believe the changes will be marked as changed by the person using Version control on the central repository.

Auditing does allow Saving and Loading of Audit Logs, however this is designed for backup purposes and I would NOT recommend it for your situation, as I am sure there would be conflicts. If you send a feature request though, we could look at changing this.

Make sure you check these two options in your ODBC connection. It may clear up the problem you are talking about.

"Don't Optimize Column Width" and "Return Matching Rows"

EA can make a diagram like that, it just takes a little work to set up. Once it is, you can use (and reuse) it very easily.

Here are some points to get you started.
This is the easiest way (once it's setup):
- There is a Shapescript function for clouds (I don't think any built in element uses it.)
- Alternate Images and Shapescripts can be associated with Stereotypes.
- Stereotypes (including images and shapescripts) can be put into a Profile
(*EDIT* MDG Technologies can include Images, with Profiles images have to imported seperately)
- Profiles can be loaded into a toolbox that allows easy access to your elements.

also:
- The EAExample models contains images similar to the ones in the diagram.
- There is also an image set available for download from our website that has additional images.
