Gomathi,

Have you checked that you have the Strategy Mapping MDG activated ?

Regards,

Jon.

Hi Jon,

Do you mean the option - Specialize -> Manage (Technologies) -> Strategic Modeling?
It is enabled. Also, all the other elements and even connectors are getting imported without any issue.

Gomathi

Which version of EA are you using?
I tried it in EA13.5 and it imports and works as expected.

Arshad

Hi Arshad,

I'm using EA 14.

Hi Arshad,

I tried as mentioned.
But, the import for that particular element is failing.

I'm trying to import elements from Excel using MDG MS Office plugin.
These are flowchart elements.
I have defined the type information in the Excel and it imports just fine for almost all elements.
But, for FC_Begin, it is not creating a proper flowchart begin symbol.
I exported a begin symbol to understand what type it takes.
It was 'StateNode' type and 'FC_Begin' stereotype.
But, even with this the import is not creating proper element.
Could you let me know what I'm missing?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Arshad,

If I'm importing elements, then this template is not applied.
Is there any option I have to enable?

Hi Arshad,

I changed both the settings as mentioned.
But, when I create a new element, again it is created with the blue background.

When I create a flow chart element, it is in blue color by default.
How do I change it to the actual default element fill color?
I have disabled the 'Use Element Group Style' option in Preferences > Diagram > Appearance.
Is there any other option I have to give to change the default blue color fill?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Arshad,

I had used Type as 'Activity' for decision also. That was the mistake. (Just started learning to use EA  :))
I found a type 'Decision' and when I used it, it is getting imported properly.
Thanks a lot!

Hi Arshad,

The difference is that you had used Connector Stereotype as 'StrategyMap::FC_Connector'.
I had given just the 'FC_Connector'.
After changing it to 'StrategyMap::FC_Connector', it is as expected. :D

Thanks a lot for the continued support!

I have imported Flowchart elements and connectors from Excel file using MDG Integration Plug-in tool.
The connector type is 'ControlFlow' with stereotype 'FC_Connector'.
But, the arrowheads are different for the imported connector and the connector which is available in the toolbox.
But, the types and stereotypes are same.
Is there any option to change the arrowhead style?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Arshad,

In EA 14, the connector configuration is not under the settings. It is enabled if we select EA Element Property as 'Connector' in the 'Property Mapping' page of the Profile manager settings.
Now I'm able to import connectors as well.
Thanks a lot!!! :)
