General Board / Re: RTF Template - Element filtering
« on: June 11, 2024, 11:36:02 pm »
Thx Geert,

I can confirm:
- in "Document Options" of the template
- for "Active Filter Set" choose "TagValue"
- check mark both "Property" and "Value" and write which TaggedValue you want to look in (in Property) and which value it should have (in Value)
- and it works!

Great!

Hi together,
this was 2008...

Now, in 2024, I have the same question:

Can I configure some elements to be sorted out by tagged value during documentation generation?

Greetings, Philipp

Geert, you are the hero!

I can confirm, "Priority" is stored in t_object.PDATA2.

Thx, Philipp

General Board / Accessing EA_Requirement::priority with SQL
« on: March 21, 2024, 07:32:34 pm »
Hi together!

For my collection of (SysML) requirements, I use "SysML 1.5::functionalRequirement" as Stereotype.
In the Properties window of elements from that type, there is a "Priority" attribute under the "Requirement" section, which can be set to "Low", "Medium" or "High".

Now I am writing an SQL search which shall give me all requirements which are set to "Low" for example.
The tagged values from "FunctionalRequirement (from SysML 1.5)" I can access with the t_objectproperties table, but there is no tagged value for "priority"?

Does anybody know in which table this priority attribute is stored?

Hi Modesto,
well I found my workaround (this is also the reason for not anwering so long time, sorry about that)

My workaround is to:
- keep packages small for those documentation is running over
- if the error is showing up, I export the model from the server and import it in a local file

--> If there is no cloud connection, documentation is working fine.

Greetings, Philipp

PCS Bugs and Issues / Documentation Generation using PCS leads to crash
« on: November 07, 2023, 06:54:38 pm »
Hi together,
our SysML model is accessed via PCS, it is a Firebird model.
For documentation generation we set up a dedicated model in the root, consisting out of a "Report Package" element, which contains several "Model Document" elements. Those "Model Document" elements we assigned the package(s) to report on and our RTFTemplates to use for.

The problem is, when executing this documentation generation on the "Report Package" (with F8 key) it now leads to a crash on the server.
Result is, that EA freezes and the PCS service "Sparx Systems Professional Cloud" was stopped somehow and is not running any longer. It needs to be restarted by hand.
Log files report only "2023-11-07 07:42:44 [FATAL]: --------------------------------------"

Same documentation generation was running without problems, when executing it on a local *.qea repository.

Has anyone observed issues like that and know what to do?

Hi together,
I am wondering how the discussions are working in EA and have two questions:
1)
We are using version controlled packages and I am able to add a discussion to an element in a locked and checked-in package of a colleague...
Where are those discussions stored? How my colleague is receiving this discussion on his element? Are those stored in the *.eapx file?

2)
When communicating with the (company external) system stakeholders, is there a way, that they can add discussions to elements, which I can import back in the model without importing the complete package?

thx,
philipp

Hi Geert,
that is what I am looking for! Thanks a lot!

I think it should be a EA option.
In the toolbox, when clicking the 3 bars, selecting "Setting Toolbox Visibility", the dialog "Pinned Toolbox Pages" opens.

-> If here the MDG Toolbox would be listed, I could pin it to be always visible.

So the question is maybe, how to show MDG toolboxes in this dialog?

Hi together,
I am using the "LieberLieber SYSMOD" MDG It is providing me a toolbox with special elements for SysML.

In order to use the toolbox elements in diagrams, I navigate in the Browser to "Resources" and double-click the "SYSMODToolbox" entry in the tree.
Then it is showing me the SYSMOD elements in the toolbox window.

But:
- then it is only showing those, and not the standard SysML elements.
- and when changing the diagram type, the standard SysML elements are showing up again, and the SYSMOD elements are gone.
So I always need to switch between the toolboxes back and forth over the Resorces tree, which is not so nice...

Can somebody show me a way to always activate the SYSMODToolbox in parallel to the standard SysML toolbox? Would be great!
(Sorry, I am not experienced in EA, so maybe you can link me to some help page where this is described....)
Thanks!
