General Board / How to version the EA-model in GitHub?

Hi,

I'm setting up a development project in gitHub and we want to use EA for modeling the activities and states of the system (we're not planning on generating code).

Is it possible to put the model in gitHub and access it with an EA-client?

General Board / how to change default size of symbols

Hi,

I'm mainly working on a 13"-screen :-( and I therefore  need to keep symbols as small as possible to get as much use as possible out of my limited space.

I've discovered that my activity symbols by default often have room for 4 rows of text, while I usually only use one row (most often just two words). I therefore manually make the symbols smaller.

Is there a way to make the default symbol smaller, e.g. just one row?

General Board / Change default names of priorities

Hi,

We're working with the requirements diagram and are usually using the MoSCoW-method for prioritizing, thus we need four levels of priority.

The requirement element in enterprise architect does only have three levels and they are named high, medium and low.

1. Does any one know how we change the names of these to must have, should have, could have?
2. And how we can add a level named 'won't have'

General Board / sum estimates of effort

Hi,
My team have estimated all the requirements (depicted as "requirements" in the "requirements-diagram") and I have documented these as "efforts" using the project management view.

Now I only need to sum all estimated efforts to get the total for the project. Does anyone know how to do that?

General Board / generating a glossary together with the model

I want to generate my entire report from the model (using f8), including the project glossary. However, when I generate from f8 I can't sort the glossary according to the sections (e.g. first all business terms, then all technical terms). I can do this when I only generate a glossary from "project/documentation/glossary" but not when I try to do it together with the rest of the model.

Any ideas how I can do this (i.e. generate a glossary with f8 AND get it sorted by section)?

I've created an instance of an object and the diagram shows "instance:type". I want to hide the :type-part so that the diagram only shows "instance". Any ideas how I do this, anyone?

I've created a class-diagram with a number of classes. Now I want to create an example of a specific situation where I've got instances of my classes with specific attribute values but I can't edit nor show the attributes on my object diagram.

Any ideas how I do this anyone?

Hi,

I'm trying to create a uml profile and whant to use an activity partition for defining states (like todo, doing, done). I then want to place an element (like a requirement) in the partition and then I want to change the state of the element according to the name of the partition.

Does anyone know if this is even possible? Can you point me in the right direction for learning more?

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / difference between metaclass "task" and tasks

Hi,
I'm trying to understand how to create profiles and want to be able to model project tasks. When I look through the list of existing meta classes I find a class called "task". I've tried to make a stereotype called "todo" that extends it.

I then expected to be able to assign resources to my new stereotype via the resource allocation view. However, I am not!

Can anyone explain to me why I can't? Is there a difference between the metaclass I extended and the tasks (defect, release, request) that are used for resource allocation? Or do I have to do something else to make my stereotype available in the resource allocation view?

Have you tried just changing the style in your template document? I.e. Heading 1, heading 2 and so on, for each elementtext you want number. And then choose a numbered heading-style.
