You should contact support; this forum is a user forum.

Perhaps you copy-pasted the password by double-clicking on it and copying it.

When selecting text by clicking on it, Windows sometimes includes the blank space after the password.

Try typing in the password if you have not already tried that.

Even if you could disable the 'Print HTML' option using Javascript and/or CSS, users would still be able to get the HTML from the browser cache - or simply copy-paste the on-screen text to Notepad and print from there.

In general, if you can see it, you can print it.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Version control with Subversion
« on: November 21, 2006, 12:27:52 am »
You never enter servername, username and password in EA - only the path to the local working directory.

Outside of EA you must create a local working directory using your SVN-client.

When you have done that, configure EA in the menubar: 'Project' -> Version Control'.

Read the whitepaper on version control ->

Suggestions and Requests / Re: MDG Integration for Eclipse

What's the difference between MDG Link and Integration?

Is Link a seperate application where the other is an IDE plug-in?

General Board / RTF template - Adding Data to Header/Footer
« on: October 27, 2006, 03:37:41 am »
It does not seem possible to add Model data to the header and footer of the RTF template.

Is there a simple solution I am missing?

I'm on build 799

General Board / Re: Placing XMI files from CVS in directory struct

Problem (apparently) solved.

Installing various CVS clients had added loads of junk to the environment variable PATH.

Editing it manually has solved the problem.

General Board / Placing XMI files from CVS in directory structure
« on: February 28, 2007, 02:40:10 am »
When configuring a package for CVS, EA suggests the location CVS_ROOT/<package-name>.xml

Instead of placing all packages in the root, we created a directory structure mimicking the project structure:

Model
- Requirements Model
-- Use Case Model
--- Use Cases
---- Use Case 1.xml
---- Use Case 2.xml
---- Use Case 3.xml

In the beginning, this went fine - but now all of a sudden EA just hangs after selecting the package XML file location and pressing OK.

It seems to be a CVS problem, as killing cvs.exe in the TaskManager brings up the confirmation window and the process resumes as normal, writing XMI to the file system under CVS control.

A CVS Update was performed before attempting to configure the packages for CVS - but no luck.

Any ideas? Or should the XMI files simply not be put into directories not under EA control?

General Board / Re: How do I bookmark Virtual documents?

I haven't got any other ideas, I'm afraid.

Perhaps you haven't yet created the bookmark before attempting to copy it?

Right-click on the package in the Project Browser, select 'Bookmarks' and click 'Bookmark Selected'.

Now you may copy the bookmark to Word (Package right-click -> Documentation -> Copy RTF Bookmark)

General Board / Importing RTF in Word - load problems
« on: January 23, 2007, 03:33:08 am »
We import generated RTF into Word documents and it works fine.

However, the Word documents take ages to load (15 minutes) and never print (Word goes into Non-responsive mode). Is this what one can expect with 2 MByte Word documents which import 5 sub-documents or might we resolve this problem?

The imported RTF is not located on a mapped network drive and the documents load faster (less slow) on new machines.

EA is build 802 Corporate.

General Board / Re: Permanence of links in HTML documentation
« on: November 23, 2006, 12:29:11 am »
Yeah - it seems links are trashed - as expected. It would have been nice to be able to link from an external resource (Word document) even after a reshuffling or addition/deletion.

Maybe Sparx could find some other way of generating the file names; e.g. use the package names after removing spaces.

General Board / Permanence of links in HTML documentation
« on: November 15, 2006, 01:55:22 am »
When generating HTML documentation, the file names given to the individual HTML files seem to be generated based on tree location.

I would like to link to sections of the HTML documentation from MS Word documents - but that requires that these links are 'static' and don't potentially change everytime elements are added, deleted, moved or re-ordered.

My first tests show that even after re-ordering elements, the links still point to the correct diagram.

Is this intentional and reliable - or was it just a coincidence (or is the browser cache fooling me)?

General Board / Ordering and payment via RegSoft
« on: November 10, 2006, 12:11:19 am »
I ordered licenses almost 24 hours ago and the order is still 'unprocessed'. I've sent two emails, until now without reply.

There is a time zone difference to take into account - but this is online and should pretty much be immediate!

Googling for 'regsoft delay' unfortunately shows that this experience is not uncommon.

Anyone else had problems? If so, how were they resolved?
