Oh...yeah...look at that. For some reason I had it in my head that was to create a new branch in the version history...branch in the SCC sense, rather than a branch on the EA folder tree. Thanks for setting me straight.

I really miss this from Visual Studio: the ability to check in all checked out packages with a common commit message.

We've broken our project up into a fair number of packages to prevent contention. If I've got several packages check out, it is tedious to check them all back in individually when I'm done.
