Thanks Tjerk,

This is a nice feature too, but it's not what I'm looking for. Basically I'd like to do the relationship matrix in a graphical format. It's really querying the repository and show the result in a diagram.  Lets say I'm finished modelling my Use Cases, GUI's etc. Now I'd like to create an overview diagram for Joe Biotech to show him all the processes he'll be involved with.  He can then use this diagram as a customized starting point to investigate the system. By selecting a process, expanding it further, he can learn more about the process and its environment.
I'm not sure if I can make the idea clear. Rational Rose has it built in and we used this functionality a lot. Especially if you don't know the models, it's a great way to find your way around.

I was just trying out the 'Locate Related Element' in the Link list. If there was a 'Insert Related Element' function, that would solve half the problem and shouldn't be too difficult to implement.
(Locating the Element in the Project Window and then Dragging it onto the diagram is a bit cumbersom because you have to close the Property Window for every object and open it again for the next one.)

In Rose there is a feature where yo can query for related elements. As a result, the tools puts all related elements into the actual diagram. e.g. I want to create a new diagram showing all use cases the - let's say - biologist uses. All you need to do is create an emtpy diagram, drag the biologist (not the real one of course) onto it and query 1 level deep. If I remember correctly you can even specify what types of elements to look for, in this case only 'use cases'. Now you got a nice overview what the biologist should be doing.

Does EA provide something similar? I couldn't find it, but maybe I just missed it. If not, would be nice to see it in one of the next releases.

General Board / UML Profile and GPF

I experience occasional GPF's when importing the UML Profile XML File. So far, I couldn't figure out what causes the GPF. I could import the XML File into a new Model without problems.

Did anyone else have the same problems?

Try right-click on package in Project Explorer, then choose Documentation|Rich Text Documentation...

There you can select what you want on your report.

Thanks for your ideas.

I decided that I will use some of my free time over xmas to develop an automation using the api from sparx. I don't know if I'll be successful but I'll give it a go and let you know if I found a way. (I guess this is also a good way to get back into programming, which I haven't done for a while...)

Thank you. After reading your reply I had the idea of using the scripting interface to automate this. One level would actually be sufficient to begin with. But all I found was a Read-Only Interface. Is there a R/W interface?

Uml Process / UML for EAI

Did someone already do some work in this area? I'd like to use EA to gather requirements and document our EAI environment.  
I found a OMG proposal but it is very technical. What I'm looking for is an easy way to document all the system components, Inbtegrations (data flows), and persons involved.  I'm currently in the process of defining some UML Profiles using stereotypes and tagged values to make it easier to create the appropriate diagrams.
Any advice appreciated, Gunnar
