Hi,
If I have set up version control for my model, what additional benefits I get by Enabling Security feature of EA?
I think security feature is bit of overhead if model is already integrated with version control. Please share your views.

I did file transfer to *.eap file from the DBMS. When I try to open it, its asking for credentials. Its not taking the ones that I use to connect my model to EA. Which are credentials its expecting?

It might be a good feature for EA to make local copy without having to connect to DB and then merge into DB later.

Hi,
I have a model that is stored in backend SQL server. Currently no version control is being used. With this setup, does 'Work Offline' has any meaning? Will it help me to work offline without having connectivity to DB?

Hi,
Is it possible to use EA with Git? I know it works with Subversion but didn't find much in help/forum on using with Git. I saw some post that it works with lemon tree but wanted to know if Sparx system itself allows using EA with Git.

Can we reverse engineer the sequence diagram from event based (UI) applications? That is the source code doesnt have main method or the application heavily depends on user inputs.

EA can represent and generate appropriate code for a collection from an association or aggregation using collection classes.  (See http://www.sparxsystems.com/uml_tool_guide/code_engineering/settingcollectionclasses.html)
 
In all other cases where you want to represent somewhere using an instantiation of a generic type, you will need to explicitly reference the full name, including the arguments.
 
If you are wanting to model your own generic classes, you can do so by following the instructions at http://www.sparxsystems.com/uml_tool_guide/uml_dictionary/parameterisedclassestemplate.html.

Why do we need a script? Would it not work if you just try transfering the data from your initial database into EAP file and then connect to new database and transfer the data to DBMS?

Hi,
I have integrated my model with SVN. I had created an EAB file sometime back where I had 2 packages under the root node. Now one of my team member had created a new package under the root and added it as a new xml file to Subversion. Now,when I import EAB file, I do not get this new package automatically and I need to explicitly import this xml file. I wanted to create a new EAB file for which will get all the three packages for me. How to do that?

Hi, Figured out the solution!!

"Filename" field in the Properties Window needs to point to the appropriate code file, if not the View Source Code option will not work. By setting that to right file and then synchronizing solved the issue!!

General Board / Linking a class in the model to a file

Hi,
I havea reverse enginneered model with lot of classes. After reverse engineering I added the model to subversion. Because of that I lost the linkage to the file when I checked out next time. Now there is some change in the code and I want to synchronize that with the model. Since the class element is no more "linked" to the source file I am not able to do that. Even if I use Synchronize Package it does some processing but nothing really happens.  I also tried setting Local Path but that also doesnt seem to be working.  Any suggestions on how to acheive that?.

Yes.. The entry exit points work from emebedded elements but from tool box are not tied to the state. Looks like it might be another bug.
