Suggestions and Requests / Labels on Events and other icons
« on: October 11, 2011, 09:47:54 am »
This is pretty minor, but I find myself making this change manually quite a bit, and it would be nice to have this "fixed".

I use Sparx 9.0 mainly for BPM.  When I drag an icon (such as an event) onto the canvas, the label text is not trimmed - there is usually about 20-30 blank characters following the text.  As a result, the label is not centered perfectly under the icon.

I'm wondering if this is an oversight within the impl, or just a feature I need to learn to live with?

thanks in advance,
Torrance S

Thanks.  Is there a way to specify a default, or does this have to be set for each line?

I'm really starting to get frustrated with this issue.  I have an activity on a BPMN canvas with 4 message flows (data associations) to 4 data objects (artifacts).  I get all the arrows lined up just right, then I highlight all my elements and move them to another section of the screen - and the arrows get way out of whack.

I pretty much have two alternatives at this point - roll back to Sparx 8.x or start using Eclipse modeling tools.

This is irritating.  When new releases break tried-and-true features, it's not a whole lot of fun ...  :(

Bugs and Issues / Message Flows between Elements (BPMN modeling)

I'm finding the ability to line up message/sequence flows between elements on a BPMN canvas very difficult in the last 2 releases of EA (9.0 and 9.1).

If I drag a message flow between a pool and an intermediate element, it simply refuses to flow in a straight line.  The connector simply appears crooked and will not straighten out.

This is rather frustrating as one of the key advantages of EA was how easy it has been to line elements up on a canvas and not have to worry about making things "pretty".

Any one else noticing this issue?  EA - fix please?
