For some properties (status included) you may use Update Package Status function.

You will find it in context menu of a package in Project Browser. Package Control|Update Package Status.
Hi Jan,
This tool is useful. However, tell me if I am wrong, it only covers the change of status for single package. And what is more important it will change the status for all elements inside the given package. So if some of elements have different status it will be changed automatically.
I think the question was more about how to change for example the status of Actor (ex. User) and only this actor, in every package. At least this is how I understood it.

At least Snickers for Jan !

Good point Frank. I also think that having several diagrams at once would make EA operations slower.

Thx,
Not yet, I wanted firstly to see some comments about it. How many other users would like to have such options in Test Cases.
Thx for your comment David.

Suggestions and Requests / Test Case - extended functionality
« on: July 21, 2008, 11:36:03 pm »
Welcome,

Due to many customers' requests about test cases functionality in EA I would like to ask for the following functionality.

I would like to have the possibility to create tests with many test steps, and every test step should have stepID, action name, description, input data, acceptance criteria, result

The result for a test would be Pass if every step was passed, and the result for test would be Fail if one of steps failed.

Also I would like to have a defect reporting similar to the bugzilla.

It would be also nice to have access to test history. While writing new tests, there could be an option to see the history of tests, with their initial criteria and failure reports.

Here is an example test case template

Hi,

That is very intelligent post, I must admit. Very smart approach to present Electronic Arts in bad light. The person probably registered on many computer oriented forums and did the same thing.

Posting it here intrigues a lot of users of Enterprise Architect (due to similar name abrev. convention). The person gets interest from many computer users, and his effort of presenting Electronic Arts intensifies. At the same time Enterprise Architect is not harmed at all.  ;)

Also my support for this issue...The output should be available in .doc format.

I agree polls would be very useful in this forum.

General Board / Re: Migrating from Rational Rose to EA

Hi tpi,

You are right you are not the first person to have problems with RR to EA export.

However I've noticed some improvements in this area:

EA 7.1 b 834:
#  Added support for importing events on State Transitions from Rose exported XMI 1.1.
# Prevent adding of multiple instances of one element to diagram from Rose XMI 1.1.
EA 7.1 b 833:
Added support for importing diagram notes from Rose exported XMI 1.1
EA 7.1 b 832:
#  Added support for importing the value of attribute "changeable" on Association Ends and Attributes from Rose exported XMI 1.1

General Board / Math Expressions in EA

Hello,

I am looking for a way to model mathematical expressions in EA. I need them to represent the idea of algorithms to calculate some values needed in my software. What's more I would like to generate documentation out of this, so I will be needing a RTF template to do that. I would highly appreciate any help.

Hi Rod,

You can try the simplest method from Word: Copy, Paste  ;)

Select the diagram you want to include in the document, Ctrl+C and than paste it in your linked document Ctrl+V.

General Board / Re: Requirement Status - Mandatory
« on: July 29, 2008, 11:53:09 pm »
Hi Harald,

Some requirements may have more significance than others in the project. That status is made to highlight the importance of given requirement. It may also indicate the hierarchy of actions related to requirements, showing that Mandatory should be fulfilled firstly.

Maybe the example will better describe it:
At the beginning of the modeling the status of each requirement is set to proposed. Some of them can be set as mandatory. After completing them the status is changed to Approved, Implemented or Validated.

What exactly do you want to achieve?  If it is purely a pictorial representation, could you use Object elements on a Class diagram?
Exactly for me Object is the solution, or even you could use Domain Model if you don't want to show Operations and Attributes.

Hi,

I agree with Dermot changing status in Element List is nice and easy  ;) but would be even nicer if we could select Ctrl+click multiple elements and change status of those selected. However if trying to do that Ctrl+click works fine, but multiple changes cannot be done.

Maybe that could be another feature request...
